To most people, it is something new, different and, of course, virtual. And if you're from an area like Northeastern Pennsylvania like me, you know that the people here DO NOT like change. But what if I told you that everyday mostly everyone is already in the metaverse? We've been doing it for years, but no one put a name to it. Do you have a Facebook or Snapchat avatar? If you do, congratulations, you are in the metaverse! Do you play video games and purchase in-game skins, characters or weapons? You're in the metaverse! Not only does Hootsuite teach and inform you on social marketing, it gives you an option to learn even more.  As you go through the readings, there's additional videos you can watch that will further assist you with your social media journey. You're taught how to create and utilize a social media strategy. I read about setting strategic and realistic goals, budgeting, specifying a brand persona/voice, creating a crisis management plan and building a community of advocates. Although, that is just scratching the surface of the topics discussed. I was originally enrolled into a Music Recording Technology program from 2018 to 2019, and although music is my passion and saving grace, I didn't know if I wanted to make a career of it.
