Step Inside The BLOGDEN (week #2)

Welcome to BLOGDEN! Come inside and make yourself at home. My name is Bryden Peters and I am a returning student to Luzerne County Community College. I was originally enrolled into a Music Recording Technology program from 2018 to 2019, and although music is my passion and saving grace, I didn't know if I wanted to make a career of it. I took a well needed break after dropping out and let me tell you the term 'college drop-out' really does hit hard. I didn't know where to go from there. I received backlash from family and friends for quitting, but I knew MRT was not for me. Within the year break I had taken, I discovered something about myself. I learned something I was good at, but also rewarding when done successfully. What was it you may ask? I started making posts for my jobs' social media! I work for The Strange & Unusual, an oddities parlor located in Kingston, Pennsylvania. We sell everything from human bones, animal bones and witchcraft necessities to bath products, jewelry and crystals. So, the content I posted and continue to post is always creative and different.  I've been with The Strange & Unusual for almost three years now and with them I have managed an Instagram with 188k followers and Twitter with 10k followers. I had also developed and continue to run a Tik Tok account and have successfully gained over 55k followers all on my own! I wouldn't of been able to do all of this if I had not taken a break and discovered who I am. So, after realizing what I was good at, I had an epiphany....I could make a career of this! That is when I had decided to enroll back into LCCC for Digital Marketing.  I have been in the online world since I was a young child. I know all the trends and lingo of today, yesterday and tomorrow. It also helps that I am an avid video game player, binge watcher of shows, listening to different genres of music artists/songs and always thinking creatively for something new and exciting to post. I'm constantly staying up to date in the internet world, but I do have to remind myself to take a break from it time to time. Connections with family and friends mean everything to me. I wouldn't be where I am today without them. They are my biggest critiques, but also my biggest supporters. I believe my relationships with my family and friends carries over into the professional world. I want clients to be able to relate to me and I relate to them. I strive to achieve a comfortable, inclusive space for all future and current endeavors. I am extroverted, energetic, humorous and fun which attributes to why I feel I succeed in the context of social media. Social media is putting yourself out there and I hope to teach and help those who need the extra push to be successful in the digital world. So now that I have put myself out there through BLOGDEN, I hope you continue to read and be immersed in all things social media.
