Hoot Yeah! I Did It! (week #15)

I attempted the Social Marketing  Certification Exam from Hootsuite once AND ONLY ONCE! I passed with flying colors. I can attribute this 100/100 to taking the time and taking notes throughout the chapters. Also the "extras" throughout the learning module helped me get a better understanding of what I watched/read. I'm hooting at the moon tonight!

Twitter Ads Are In (week #10)

Image
Twitter Ads Twitter is becoming a great place for advertising for businesses. The reach Twitter provides is unlike any other. Twitter is also a great outlet to directly reach out to customers when they have questions about your product or service. Customers usually take to Twitter when they have an issue with your business or company so it is important to be active on there.  A company that really stood out to me on Twitter was Adobe. Adobe actively shares artists’ work to their Twitter when the artists use Adobe Creative Suite. This shows some sort on inclusivity with the company that they appreciate who buys their programs and are willing to share their work I believe this is a great ad strategy to show that Adobe cares about their customers. It makes new and existing customers feel welcomed and valued.

This Is Your Sign To Use Signal (week #9)

Image
Signal is a messenger app that uses encryption codes to help keep what you share safe and private. It it also free to users. You will never have to worry about third parties looking at your information or what you decide to message to friends, families or clients. You are able to send text messages, voice messages, GIFS, and videos within the app. Signal is used by many but the ones that stand out are people like Edward Snowden (former American computer intelligence consultant) and Jack Dorsey (CEO of Twitter and Square). As for myself, I loved the layout of the app. It was easy to use and neat. It had a similar layout as iMessage is for Apple products. I also enjoyed that there was an option to have "disappearing" messages which relates to Snapchat.  If you want complete privacy, it is in your absolute best interest to use Signal.

We're Already In The Metaverse! (week #5)

Image
Picture by Mohamed_Hussan   Afraid of the METAVERSE ?  We're Already Here!     For the past year or so, we've heard this word..."M etaverse." To most people, it is something new, different and, of course, virtual. And if you're from an area like Northeastern Pennsylvania like me, you know that the people here DO NOT like change. But what if I told you that everyday mostly everyone is already in the metaverse? We've been doing it for years, but no one put a name to it. Do you have a Facebook or Snapchat avatar? If you do, congratulations, you are in the metaverse! Do you play video games and purchase in-game skins, characters or weapons? You're in the metaverse! Or perhaps you have purchased or downloaded an e-book, movie or something new like an NFT, well, well, well...look who's actively participating in the metaverse!      As we all lived through the struggles and obstacles of COVID-19, you may have not known it, but we turned to the metaverse for he...

Had A Hoot With Hootsuite (week #4)

Image
Image by jmexclusives Logo by  Ayonnel           If you're ever trying to learn in an informational, fully immersing way, I would recommend using Hootsuite. Not only does Hootsuite teach and inform you on social marketing, it gives you an option to learn even more.  As you go through the readings, there's additional videos you can watch that will further assist you with your social media journey. You're taught how to create and utilize a social media strategy. I read about setting strategic and realistic goals, budgeting, specifying a brand persona/voice, creating a crisis management plan and building a community of advocates. Although, that is just scratching the surface of the topics discussed. Personally, my favorite readings were how to build communities within each social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram and even Snapchat. But,  enough hooting from ...

Step Inside The BLOGDEN (week #2)

Image
Welcome to BLOGDEN! Come inside and make yourself at home. My name is Bryden Peters and I am a returning student to Luzerne County Community College. I was originally enrolled into a Music Recording Technology program from 2018 to 2019, and although music is my passion and saving grace, I didn't know if I wanted to make a career of it. I took a well needed break after dropping out and let me tell you the term 'college drop-out' really does hit hard. I didn't know where to go from there. I received backlash from family and friends for quitting, but I knew MRT was not for me. Within the year break I had taken, I discovered something about myself. I learned something I was good at, but also rewarding when done successfully. What was it you may ask? I started making posts for my jobs' social media! I work for The Strange & Unusual, an oddities parlor located in Kingston, Pennsylvania. We sell everything from human bones, animal bones and witchcraft necessities...
